Advice On Love

Most people don't get advice on love when things are going well. Instead, they wait until some crisis comes about. Either they are having relationship problems, or else they are having difficulty meeting mister or miss right. It is not surprising that many people think that they can handle their own relationships without advice until life experience proves them wrong, but it is unfortunate. A little bit of well-timed dating advice given out before anything starts to go bad can save you a whole lot of heartache, and that is the truth!

I learned the hard way that it can be useful to get advice on relationships early on. One of my friends is an online psychic, and she is always trying to give her opinion to everyone. Suffice it to say that, while her clients appreciate her take, her friends are sometimes a bit irritated with hearing it. When she told me that the girl I was seeing was afraid of commitment, I sort of brushed her off, not really wanting to get her unsolicited advice on love. I thought I knew the girl, and I did not need anyone telling me how she felt. It seemed out and out rude for the friend to but in where she did not belong.

In retrospect, I should have listened to her advice on love. Anyone who has read mythology should know that, when a psychic or seer gives you a piece of advice, you should listen to him or her. Not only did the relationship eventually fall apart, but it did so far sooner than I had expected. Only a few months after I had the conversation with my friend, my girlfriend was gone. As soon as things started to get serious, she was running out the door.

Nowadays, I always listen to the pieces of advice on love that people give me. I have come to realize that my friends really care about me. If any of them have relationship advice to tell me, it is because they are worried. I should take any words of wisdom given to me seriously and evaluate them on their own merits. I do not have to agree with everything everyone says, but I do have to at least listen. Otherwise, I could miss something serious.

I've even started getting online love advice from an Internet dating site that I sometimes use. There are great discussion forums with very few trolls, and there are always people there willing to answer any questions for you. Although they differ in the advice on love they give, most of these folks have pretty useful things to say. It is nice to know people online who are interested enough to discuss your love life with you.
